Veteran Author Cecil (Cec) Murphey has written or co-written more than 125 books, including the New York Times bestseller 90 Minutes in Heaven (with Don Piper) and Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (with Dr. Ben Carson). His books have sold in the millions and have brought hope and encouragement to countless people around the world.
Cec stays busy as a professional writer and travels extensively to speak on topics such as writing, male sexual abuse, recovery, spiritual growth, caregiving, and significant living.
Prior to launching his career as a full-time writer and speaker, Cec served as pastor of Riverdale Presbyterian Church in Metro Atlanta, as a volunteer hospital chaplain for ten years, and was a missionary in Kenya for six.

Can I stay with one project for a year or longer? How do I sell the book? Murphey shares what he has leaned in his career of selling 100 nonfiction books.

Thursday, September 27, 3:50 p.m. Writing and Selling Gift Books and the New Kind of Devotional Book”
In 2009, Murphey began writing gift books. Not only do they help others, but they’re also known as evergreen books because of their long shelf life. He now has 5 in print and others under contract. He has published more than 20 devotional books, although most of them aren’t marketed as devotionals.
