Preparing a compelling book proposal is a critically important step, not only in seeking publication, but also in preparation for writing, seeking an agent, and building your team to help you with a successful launch of your book.
This highly popular workshop, taught by Cindy Lambert at numerous national writing conferences, offers a detailed exploration of the book proposal process, the seven audiences of a proposal, an explanation of how publishing houses evaluate and choose proposals, a proposal template you can use, and a plan for “mapping” the writing of your book. For 30 minutes during this workshop the class is split into fiction and nonfiction groups so that Cindy can explain specific elements of nonfiction proposals while Dave Lambert emphasizes the fiction elements.
Take this premium two-hour workshop on Monday, and you will be equipped to complete or refine your proposal before meeting with editors the rest of the week. Participants in this workshop will be invited to email their revised proposals to our service desk by Tuesday morning of conference week for three free copies of their revised proposal in time for appointments with editors. Prerequisite: Open only to those who register for the 2014 Maranatha Christian Writers’ Conference.
