Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference

Described in a local newspaper as  one of Michigan’s best kept secrets, the Maranatha Christian Writers’ Conference is held every fall on the beautiful campus of the Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference.  This land was purchased over 100 years ago to use as grounds for a local church’s camp meeting. Today the grounds are still focused on building God’s kingdom in those who come for special event or simply to vacation with purpose.

Some of the regular events at the Maranatha conference grounds include a week set aside for Joni and Friends Ministry. Staff brings families and children with special needs from around the country to the scenic beauty of the Lake Michigan shoreline. Horses are equipped with special saddles for special-needs children and adults. Families enjoy time at the beach, and for those who are unsure of the waves in the big lake, Maranatha has one of the few full size in-ground pools built into the lake shore sands. During the week, Maranatha provides personal missionaries who are assigned to each family, to handle incidentals and make sure their stay is a time to relax and rebuild.

Regularly promoted missionary organizations include New Tribes, RBC and Mission India. Bible teachers Erwin Lutzer and Gary Chapman, along with musical artists Selah, Larnelle Harris and West Michigan’s own Big Band of Praise will also perform throughout 2012′s summer months. The conference grounds summer calendar is filled with sports camps for youth, get away weeks for seniors, and energizing recreation for families. We are so grateful to the Maranatha staff who provide one of Michigan’s most scenic spots for our annual conference. Join us this year, and enjoy the still small voice of God on Lake Michigan’s beautiful shoreline.
