Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference is celebrating 75 years as a bible training and missionary conference center. During it’s history, hundreds of evangelists and Christian organizations have gathered under the tall oak and maple trees. As he began his ministry, evangelist Billy Graham held a number of camp meetings and week long revivals on the grounds. The pictures of these events hang on the lodge’s walls. Yet the conference grounds weren’t built exclusively for big events and name brand preachers. Maranatha is dedicated to presenting the bible as life changing truth for all Christians and to the larger secular culture. The mission and vision of the conference center is :
“To provide spiritual renewal in a recreational setting emphasizing Bible teaching and worldwide missions, and provide encouragement toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.”
For the last 35 years, as the trees become painted with fall colors, Christian writers have gathered at Maranatha to learn about the publishing and writing craft, skills, and business. Just a few hundred yards from the main conference building is Lake Michigan’s beautiful shore. On a sunny afternoon during the week long conference, you will find writers resting on hanging swings along the peaceful boardwalk. They pause to hear God’s still small voice amidst the lapping waves.
This year will be our biggest conference. Pencil these days into your Fall calendar early, and join us in the Fall.
